Shurjoint Model SS-726 stainless steel grooved end y-strainers are used to strain debris and foreign matter from piping systems, providing inexpensive protection for costly pumps, meters and other components. The y-strainer can be installed quickly and easily with two mechanical couplings and the straight flow through design provides for lower pressure drop. The strainer features a stainless steel screen secured with an end cap and mechanical coupling. Easy to clean and maintain the screen by removing coupling. The strainer is suitable for vertical or horizontal installations. Good for cold & hot water up to 230° F (110° C) and services for water with acid, water with chlorine/ chloramines, deionized water, seawater, waste water, dilute acids, oil-free air and many chemicals. Not recommended for petroleum oils, minerals oils, solvents, aromatic hydrocarbons and steam services.
