Varec's 2500 Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) is a mechanically operated, float & tape instrument designed to provide continuous liquid level measurement in bulk storage applications. This simple and reliable instrument has been used for managing inventory in the oil and gas industry for the past 90 years. This configuration includes the negator cassette.

The negator cassette improves the performance of the mechanical tank gauge by self-aligning the tape and motor as it provides the constant pullback tension required for the float to follow the liquid level. The cassette increases reliability and reduces maintenance by protecting internal moving parts from pipe debris that could cause stretching or corrosion. It also allows for safer, easier and quicker service as there is no tape to pull out or negator hubs to unwind in the user's hands.
